Hello. I’m glad you are here! I’m Maureen Burford, founding director of Creative Lives.
As a career educator and parent, I was becoming more and more concerned about the well-being of young people. In 2012, I approached my long-time meditation and philosophy teacher Ellen Tadd for help. Together, we hatched a plan to bring her pioneering discoveries about the chakra system to young people and the adults who teach and raise them.
Since that time, pressures on children, schools and parents have increased. But I have great hope. Ellen’s Framework offers profound support for our own well-being. It also gives us detailed, practical tools that you can integrate in any setting to help young people:
Relieve anxiety and depression
Develop focus and concentration
Make wise decisions
Value themselves and be curious
Cultivate emotional stability
Skillfully collaborate with peers
Build discipline and responsibility
Become more resilient
Strive for excellence
Navigate frustration and disappointment
These essential skills help young people succeed in school, develop positive relationships, tackle challenges, and share their unique gifts.
In this workshop, I will walk you through some of Ellen’s powerful insights into the function of the chakras in our daily lives and learning — and teach you a dramatic tool (The Tadd Technique) for shifting from anxiety and upset to wise perception.
I have applied the Tadd Technique with young people in the early years through college. One sixth-grade student shared this strategy as part of an English class to help mitigate worries about an assignment and hone in on the next steps in the writing process.
After class, she asked to speak with me, and with tears in her eyes, she shared:
”Ms. Burford—-I’ve been seeing a therapist for stress and anxiety for three years. I never knew I could find my own way out of it. Thank you, thank you for showing me how.”
After attending this workshop, you will understand why this strategy was so helpful in supporting this girl’s academic achievement and emotional well-being.
Creative Lives is a nonprofit, and our workshops and courses are supported by funders across the country to make them affordable for you.
I hope you’ll join me.
Maureen
Did you know that the 3rd eye chakra is the center of focus? There are many ways to help strengthen focus. We’ll explore a key one in this workshop.
85% of our trainees completing our courses report improved focus in their personal and professional lives after taking our training.
94% are better able to help children focus on the tasks at hand.
Discipline is critical to actualizing potential. Tadd’s Framework supports the development of a strong, healthy base chakra — the center that deals with discipline, responbility, and skill-building.
96% of trainees report improved self-discipline in their personal and professional lives after taking our training.
48% are better able to help children develop responsible habits.
“After taking this workshop, I knew I had found the approach I was looking for.”

Why do so many young people lose confidence in themselves as they progress through school? How can we turn this around? The chakra system provides unique answers.
93% of our trainees report improved self-esteem in their personal and professional lives after taking our training.
71% are better able to help children foster a healthier sense of self.
“In 25 years of continuing education, I have never been so moved. Great things will happen with this model of education!”
