FAQ

  • Is this a religious or spiritual approach?

Creative Lives seeks to support seven interconnected areas of healthy human development; we do not share a religious approach. We do discuss important human qualities and capacities (love, compassion, insight, emotional expression, curiosity, etc.). One could describe these qualities as aspects of our essential nature or self, or aspects of one’s inner spirit, whichever language aligns with your own cosmology.

  • I have never been able to meditate. I meditation part of this training?

Many people ask whether our focus is on meditation. We do teach basic self-awareness practices, observational skills, and yes — an Inspiration Meditation practice in our trainings. The emphasis is on practicality — ie — how do these skills help you stay open, clear, balanced, responsive, and make wise decisions as a teacher, counselor or parent.

  • Does this work apply in my setting?

A Framework for Wise Education integrates into any setting where you work with children. This approach applies across the life span and can be adapted to support your particular work and desired outcomes for children.

  • Do I have to teach children about chakras?

No. Children do not need to study the theory behind the Framework approach. Instead, we can share attitudes, strategies, activities, and environments that support their development across the seven Framework categories.

  • Is there evidence behind this approach?

Creative Lives spent a decade applying the Framework approach with thousands of young people from the early years through high school. The positive gains for youth were so compelling that we began to formalize an approach to teacher training in 2019. 93% of educators and parents trained in our approach report significant improvements in their ability to support every child’s learning and development. In addition, Research from Columbia University and other leading institutions validates the organizing principles of A Framework for Wise Education.

  • I'd like my team to train in this approach. Do you offer financial assistance?

When needed, we will work with you to secure the funding required to train your team. Our resources include language and resources for grant applications, consultations, and support for completing the grant. We do at times receive funding to offer full scholarships for those seeking to bring this approach to a school or organization.
